Herretur2008 is a group of young adventurers who in 2008 embark on the biggest travel the world has ever seen. The association is a solid bunch of old comrades who, in a desperate attempt not to feel old, has signed a pact on a journey for life!
The story:
Christmas 2005: Rasmus Munksgaard finishes an otherwise promising career in the Danish Armed Forces and returns to Mammen and Bjerringbro. In the last 1 ½ years he has only seen his old buddies occasionally in the weekends but he is now quite keen on “regaining lost territory”.
However, this is much easier said than done since all the guys have flown from the nest and moved to Århus, Randers, Viborg, Copenhagen and other godforsaken places.
After much consideration Rasmus decides to launch a master plan which he has worked on for several months and now is ready to see the daylight. “Herretur MMVIII” – a group of carefully selected homeboys, whose goal is to save up money for a great journey in 2008, and, not least, to strengthen the bond and fellowship amongst the members.
13 exclusive invitations to the inaugural meeting are sent out and nearly all choose to respond positively.
23rd of April 2005 Herretur MMVIII is founded on the first meeting in Randers. A very exciting, cozy and funny evening!

Who we are:
The group now has 14 members. The two persons, who didn’t join from the start, naturally changed their minds eventually. Therefore we can proudly proclaim that everyone who got the invitation to join this wonderful association has accepted! Although we are a motley group of exciting individualists there are some similarities, which can answer the question of why we all now are members of Herretur MVIII.
Most of the members of Herretur come from the area around Bjerringbro (the city of the year ’05). 11 of the 14 members have from time to time played handball together. 9 have attended Bjerringbro High School – but especially two (Tommy and Ronni) have earned their membership this way. One member wasn’t included in the gang until 2002 when he (Thomas) met Chris, Marc and Rasmus in Australia.
As many have probably already guessed it isn’t really the journey in 2008 which is the foundation of our group. It is, however, the desire for good fellowship and lots of fun moments which is important. So far it has worked beautifully which you can see on the following pictures, calendar and guestbook.
